Hispanic Match: Program matches first Hispanic marrow donor
After an exhaustive search for donors to participate in the National Marrow Donor Program, Florida Blood Services has found its first Hispanic match. Arnulfo Roman, 53, a Brandon resident born in Colombia, is a confirmed match with a 40-year-old man who lives in another state. The recipient, who is married with three children, has leukemia and has been waiting five years for a donor.Roman went to H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center in February for the marrow harvesting process.
